Welcome message

I would like to begin this "online place" dedicated to dialogue, thought construction, and life experience about the Andean textile, in the same way any endeavor begins among native communities in the Bolivian Andes.

In the Bolivian Andean region, men and women are taught, since they are little children, to feel and become part of nature. Meanwhile the sun and moon are considered tata Inti and mama Quilla (father sun and mother moon); all plants and animals are considered siblings.

Tata Inti and mama Quilla, protective beings from the Alax pacha (heaven), look after and guide communities and peoples faiths. They also grant the hability to plant fields and breed animals; yet not only for profit, but with care and love.

Men and women enjoy the company, in the Aka pacha (environment where they live), of mountains where protective beings reside, and also the safeguard of mother earth Pachamama. These mountains are known as achachilas and awichitas.

We should ask permission to the achachilas and awichitas, in order to begin with this endeavor. So we ask permission to the Tata Illampu, Tata Illimani, to the Tata Wayna Potosi and to the mother earth, Pachamama.

Jallalla my friends! Our adventure may begin!
